I sent my 8yo to visit Cadbury World for Easter, here's what she thought
Chocolate central! She had a great time on her Brownies trip this week.
Readers, hello! The easter holidays are upon us and the girls have had an exciting week of sleepovers with Nanna, cinema and popcorn and the jewel in the Easter crown, a chocolate-filled trip to Cadbury World.
My 8yo went with her Brownie group, so it was a solo review. I’ve asked her to write a guest blog this week letting you all know what she thought and how it went. She was very excited, and you can read her thoughts below.

This week’s adventure… Cadbury World!
By Maeve, age 8
Cadbury World is in Birmingham, and is a two hour journey from our home in Bolton. I went on a coach with my Brownies troop.
It was a long and sleepy journey and I slept for a most of the way there and back.
When I got there my first thought was CHOCOLATE HEAVEN because on the big glass walls at the entrance there were tubs of Roses and Heroes spilling out chocolates, although they were only painted ones.
One of my favourite attractions was the 4D cinema. It was incredible because not only was it in 3D with the glasses, the seats moved realistically! It really felt like you were on the Cadbury rollercoaster (which was the film we were viewing) and falling through the air.
You didn’t get to do much tasting on the tour, but near the end we were given a pot of melted milk chocolate and could put two toppings on it (white chocolate buttons, dark chocolate buttons, shortbread crumbs or jelly babies). If you get the chocolate buttons they will melt into the melted chocolate and give you a swirl! I had white chocolate buttons and jelly babies. It was DELICIOUS.
We also found out how chocolate was made by watching a comical film with wriggling benches. And we went on a Bourneville chocolate ride where we saw all the different seasons (this ride is fine for all ages I think, but best for up to 6 years old).
When I entered the gift shop at the end I started off in a small room dedicated to creme eggs. YUMMY. Then I entered the main shop where there was lots of chocolate, sweets and other souvenirs such as a Cadbury ball, necklace, pen, cup or wristband. There were also Cadbury plushies. I was allowed to take £5 but I would recommend taking at least £15.
I bought a massive creme egg Easter egg and a set of colouring pencils. They have strong colours that you can see clearly.
All in all I would give it 11 out of 10! Thank you to my Brownie leaders for organising this trip.
I love the capital letters in this. CHOCOLATE HEAVEN! DELICIOUS! YUMMY! Also her sheer excitement to be let loose in the gift shop with a fiver, but she would have preferred £15. Brilliant.
No newsletter next week as I’m taking a break for Easter. Hope you have a lovely long weekend and I’ll see you when I’m back.
